SellOrchard

Sell in person

The stall, the shop and the website share one stockroom

Whether it’s a Saturday market or a shop with a till, Point of Sale runs on a tablet browser and takes stock from the same counts as your online store.

  • Tablet POS
  • Barcode scanning
  • Cash shifts
  • Receipts
  • Locations

Selling across a counter

In-person sales shouldn’t live in a separate system

  1. Two stock counts

The till says six, the website says four, and the last one sold twice.

  2. The cash doesn’t add up

At close, nobody can say whether the drawer is short or a refund wasn’t written down.

  3. Returns from the other channel

A customer bought online and wants to swap at the stall — and there’s no way to find the order.

How SellOrchard helps

Point of Sale, plus the features it leans on

Point of Sale is shown in three blocks by job. Locations, gift cards and reports are separate features.

Point of Sale — the counter

Ring up sales quickly

A full-screen, tablet-first sell screen with big touch targets.

  • Search by name, SKU or barcode; USB or Bluetooth scanners that type like a keyboard work
  • Camera scanning on devices that support it
  • Quick keys for best-sellers, and customers attached to a sale
  • Manual discounts capped at a percentage you set

Point of Sale — cash & shifts

A drawer that reconciles

Each register opens a shift with a float and closes with a counted total.

  • Opening float, cash in and cash out with reasons
  • Close with counted cash for a Z-report showing expected vs counted
  • Sales, refunds, tax and takings by payment method

Point of Sale — payments & receipts

Take payment and hand over a receipt

Split one sale across several payment methods and send the receipt the way the customer prefers.

  • Cash with change, card on your own external terminal (with an optional reference), gift card, store credit or a custom method
  • Printable receipts sized for 80 mm thermal printers
  • Email or SMS receipts
  • Returns at the counter, refunded to cash, original payment or store credit

Locations & shared stock

Part of Products & inventory

One count per place, one total online

Each shop, stall or warehouse is a location with its own stock; POS sales deduct from the register’s location.

  • Choose which locations count towards online availability
  • Transfers to move stock to the stall and back
  • Stock counts and a full movement history
  • 2, 5 or 20 locations on Basic, Pro or Advanced

Analytics

Online and in person, side by side

Sales reports break down by channel, location, register and staff member.

  • Online vs Point of Sale sales
  • Takings by location and register
  • CSV export of any report

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What hardware do I need?

A tablet or computer with a modern browser. Any barcode scanner that types like a keyboard works, phones and tablets with camera scanning can scan too, and receipts print from the browser on 80 mm thermal printers.

Can I take card payments?

Yes, on your own card terminal: record the sale as “Card (external terminal)” with an optional reference. Point of Sale doesn’t process card payments itself yet.

Does in-person stock affect my website?

Only for locations that count towards online stock. A market stall can keep its own count without changing what the website shows.

Can staff give discounts?

Yes, up to a maximum percentage you set. Price overrides can be switched off entirely.

What currency does the POS use?

Point of Sale sells in your store currency.
