What happens after "Place order"
Step 1: A location is chosen
The order is assigned to the first location (by your priority) that has every item in stock. You can move an unfulfilled order to another location.
Step 2: Sent to ShipStation
Paid orders — and cash-on-delivery or bank-transfer orders — in the statuses you choose appear in ShipStation, minus digital and gift-card lines.
Step 3: Label printed
Buy and print the label in ShipStation with the carriers on your account.
Step 4: Tracking comes back
ShipStation notifies SellOrchard: the tracking number and carrier link are saved, the order is marked shipped and the customer is emailed.
Zones & rates
Rates that match how your carrier actually charges
Create a zone for each part of the world you ship to — whole countries or particular states and regions — and give it as many rates as you need. A rate can be a flat price, a table by weight in kilograms or a table by order value, and it can turn free above an amount, appear only within a subtotal range and carry a delivery estimate in days.
Products can be marked as shipping free or carry an extra per-item fee; free-shipping items don't count toward the weight or value that sets the price.

Orders sync through ShipStation's Custom Store connection, and live rates use your ShipStation API key with the carriers on your account. Tracking links are built automatically for the major carriers.

SellOrchard doesn't sell postage itself. Connect your ShipStation account to print labels with the carriers you use there; tracking then returns to SellOrchard automatically. Without ShipStation, add tracking details to any order by hand.

Can I charge shipping by weight?
Yes. A weight rate is a table of tiers in kilograms. You can also charge by order value or a flat price, make a rate free above an amount, and limit it to a subtotal range.
Can customers collect orders themselves?
Yes. Mark any location as a pickup point with its own name, address and instructions. Pickup is offered at checkout only when that location has the items.
How does the ShipStation connection work?
SellOrchard generates a username and password you paste into ShipStation's Custom Store setup. ShipStation then pulls your orders, and when you ship, it sends the tracking back so the order is marked shipped and the customer notified.
Can I show live carrier rates at checkout?
Yes. Add your ShipStation API key, choose carriers and services, and set an optional markup. Live rates can sit alongside or replace your zone rates, and if ShipStation is slow to answer, checkout falls back to zone rates.
Do digital products and gift cards get sent to ShipStation?
No. Digital and gift-card lines are left out, and orders without any physical items aren't exported.
Can I print packing slips?
Yes, from any order page in the admin.
